For all this time I thought there was only one Elvis in Second Life®. Boy was I wrong. So off I went to Mustang Sally to find out what the other Elvis was all about.
Ever the showman, ElvisAronPresley Lisa built up quite an entrance complete with fanfare and leaping on stage in an awesome red jumpsuit. With an intro The King would have been jealous of, EAP led off with “C.C. Ryder” sounding and looking the part. And without having to ask, he sang my favorite song “Viva La Vegas” instantly making me a fan. EAP has awesome backing tracks giving you the feel of a real Elvis concert. He gives you the whole Elvis persona.
He carries it through every moment of his show, between songs as well; convincing you the King is definitely alive. On “Bright Lights, Big City”, he gave us the sexiness we all know and love. What more can I say, EAP is the king.
He moves through his set list smoothly and professionally with songs like “Mean Woman” and “Welcome To My World” then to a host of other songs reminiscent of the king.
Every song he does fits the Elvis theme and his voice never lets out. He can sing that’s for sure and I’m not sure if the backing tracks are all recorded or if he plays, but no matter, it’s all done incredibly well. It’s tough reviewing someone like this, inevitably you do the comparison but in this case the comparison fits. EAP is every bit the king no matter what. He sings like him, talks like him, looks like him, walks like him and I’m sure does everything else like him.
ElvisAronPresley creates a fun atmosphere when he performs. It filters through the venue and you hop on for the ride. Fun is what he seems to having and you want a helping too.
The fun continued with “Mustang Sally” before he dove into an Elvis staple “Suspicious Minds”. I find he’s much more entertaining with the songs I identify with the king, but not to take away from the rest, it’s only slightly better. The whole show is magnificent and could only be topped with a visual performance that you know the real one would do. Whether slow or fast, he nails every note and never loses touch with the person he imitates.
While the show on stage is all EAP, in the audience, it’s a different matter. His fans being loyal bring out all the props including gestures and poofers that fit in with the theme. Give them credit; they create as much fun as he does.
Between songs, EAP acknowledges the crowd and seems pleased to be playing for you. He chats with the crowd but seems anxious to get back to singing as that is where he is most comfortable.
To change pace, he moved in to “Folsom Prison” and “If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body” proving he’s more that just an Elvis impersonator, he can sing in his own right. Taking us back a little more in time, he sang “The Wanderer” making us all a little nostalgic. It seems no matter what he does; it’s not only enjoyable but makes for an awfully good time.
Being an Elvis fan isn’t a prerequisite, although it does help. Whether you’re a fan of the original or not, you can’t help but enjoy the songs and the performance. Songs like “Way Down”, “In The Ghetto” and “Ask Me’ kept you entertained and enjoying the night.
ElvisAronPresley Lisa puts on a show that is about having a good time and also being a little nostalgic. You don’t have to be an Elvis fan (it helps) for he is just as entertaining if your aren’t. He finished with “Love Me” and “In My Way” before leaving the stage with the same fanfare as he entered.
