After an extended wait courtesy of second life full of lag, crashes and God knows what else, Wishing Lane finally hit the stage at Sunshine Daydream Amphitheatre to an awesome rendition of Blue Bayou. During an event focused solely on the female contingent of the second life music industry, Wishing gave us a little bit of something we haven't had for a while, Freshness.
Leading into Crazy, Wishing truly was a breath of fresh air and the crowd of just over 40 av's were appreciative of it. While Ms Lane may not have the best voice in second life, or be as well know as many sl performers, she does bring energy and innocence to the stage. Innocence in the fact that she is new to sl performances and although it shows, she has the potential to be more than a shot in the dark.
In an sl world where karaoke is the norm, Wishing stands out as something a little bit different. On I Only Have Eyes For You, she showed her inexperience and tentativeness, but you know what, it was still amazing. And as her show went on, Wishing got stronger and stronger. You get the feeling that after a few more performances, she'll be someone you don't want to miss.

The afternoon was filled with annoyances, from sl problems to sound and stream issues. But Wishing has a refreshing voice and although inexperienced, she managed to deliver a stellar performance.
Wishing Lane is relatively new to second life, she seemed somewhat nervous and at times a little tentative. But there is promise in her voice and you can expect that she'll conquer this world.
I was amazed when she started doing Beautiful by James Blunt as it is one of my favorite songs and usually brings tears to my eyes. While Wishing didn't do it complete justice, how can you compete with James, I give her credit for attempting it. By the time she was 3/4 through, it was getting impressive. Ms. Lane's biggest problem throughout her set was volume. At times she seemed to scream into the microphone and at other times, she was hard to hear. A little stability will suit her well.
Second Life is filled with seasoned musicians, those that have been here a while and you tend to get to know them. I have to give credit to some of the newer performers for venturing into second life and giving us their version of entertainment. Wishing Well is a refreshing face with an incredible voice that once seasoned will surely be a hit in this world. On Georgia, she shows her vocal range, incredible if not scary.
Though second life gave us some problems, and Wishing had some trouble with her equipment, the overall experience was well worth the 22 minute wait. Wishing Lane has versatility, doing everything from country/folk to pop with a lil rock n roll thrown in. She excels on songs like I Can't Tell You Why, and really, I can't tell you why.
Wishing Lane is one of the up n comers in second life, refreshing, inticing and new. Second Life music needs an infusion and Wishing Lane is more than willing. Wishing's set list is filled with a cross section of music, and not just your female vocalist stuff. She ventures into the unknown, and delivers a fine set worthy of anyone's ears.
If Second Life is about the music, it must be about the new and exciting vocalists venturing into our world. Wishing Lane ventures in and captures our attention. Check her out...very soon!
