I ventured down to Tranquil Commons to see a new Second Life ™ performer but due to Second Life ™ problems, she was unable to make it. I met the last minute fill in while waiting and decided to check him out. dpatrick Flow is not new to second life, but he is relatively new to performing here. An impromptu set sometimes unleashes a few gems.
dpatrick led off with Help Me Make It Through The Night. His voice is soft, sometimes eerie but crisp, clear and sweet. His voice leads you to believe he is quite shy, you know that kind of voice. But it picked up. On Georgia on My Mind, dpatrick showed that he can sing. While I thought the genre would be what it was, he surprised me with some Dave Clark Five. Not that I'm old enough to remember them, but i do know who they are. Brown Eyed Girl and some Tracy Chapman showed how versatile he is, and btw, he's not a rocker, all this done with a mellow kind of style. It was refreshing and enjoyable.

And since I'm not a big fan of backing tracks, it was nice that dpatrick played guitar. He accompanies himself well and is relaxed with his guitar. dpatrick is soothing, relaxing and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with him. For a last minute fill in, you do get a few surprises. Like a 30 minute set. Check dpatrick out, you'll find him worthy of your time.
