I stopped by Giacamo’s Ballroom to see Jean Munro and I was in for a treat as XanderNichting Writer ,electric violinist, was there and the two shared the stream for a bit of the performance. Jean mentioned that it had been a long time since the two had done so.
Jean was just taking the stage when I arrived and Xander was introducing her so it took me a bit to realize that Xander was not running the event. Jean started the night playing “Fields of Gold” accompanied by Xander on his violin. The two made magic as Jean’s voice blended hauntingly with the violin. The one problem I had was that during the song Xander would thank people for their tips. I was there to hear the music and that bothered me.
The two continued sharing the stream covering “True Colors” and then did “I’ll Fly Away” as a duet. Xander got on my nerves as he felt the need to thank Jean between every song. The two did “I Can’t Make You Love Me” before Xander left the stream to Jean.
The next half hour showed Jeans fantastic personality and her beautiful voice. Jean covered “Desperado” which was very pretty and then did a lovely cover of “Have I Told You Lately That I Love You”. She then told us she would be using a sound track for “Songbird”, but with her voice, it does not matter if she is playing or just singing to a sound track.
Due to real life issues, I had to reluctantly leave right after she covered a Gershwin tune so I missed the last 15 minutes of her fabulous performance. For a romantic evening out with one of Second Life’s® top songbirds, you can not do better than seeing Jean Munro.
