Aside from having one of the hottest AV’s I’ve seen in Second Life®, AMFORTE Clarity heats up the stage in a lot of ways. At the Red Cat Blues Club, before a sparse crowd, she gave us something we don’t hear a lot of, original songs. Yes, that’s right; AMFORTE performs all originals with the odd cover thrown in. Talent abounds. Her songs are good, okay maybe not different from a lot of female penned tunes, but they are listenable and enjoyable. She writes the typical angry female songs and even though she calls herself angry, she really is more bubbly than anything else. While the angry fits the songs, it doesn’t fit her personality.
.
This Toronto, Canada singer/songwriter also strums along quite adequately on the guitar. Check it out; it’s got a target design. She uses no tracks, just her voice and her guitar and the angry girl songs are accompanied brilliantly.
Not that the names of the songs will mean much to you at this point, but her opening numbers were My Way, Are You Happy Now, You Were, Just Leave and I'll be Okay. The titles support the angriness. Her covers included I Don’t Love You (My Chemical Romance) and Between The Bars (Eliott Smith).
AMFORTE loves to talk. She talks a lot. LOL. In between each and every song, she not only banters with the crowd, but gives us a snapshot of her life and how her life is portrayed in her songs. Talking is good, but Ms. Clarity probably carries it to the extreme. She could probably string a couple songs together without the break, but ah, that’s just me.
AMFORTE’s voice is a treasure as well. It’s clear, pitch perfect and while she has that bubbly personality, her singing voice has a bit more nastiness, probably the angry girl filtering in. She sings well and gets the message through very clearly. She’s a pleasure to listen to and I could have all night. Perhaps I’ll have to buy her CD.
The LIVE music scene is changing in Second Life®. There are a lot more quality performers showing up and what was once no more than a venture to a Karaoke bar, now is a full fledged concert, complete with instruments and talented musicians. AMFORTE Clarity is part of the new breed of performer, doing it all, and doing it well.
Take note of the song names, you may be hearing them in real life. Songs like Nothing Concrete, You Owe Me, Sister and Ain't Easy To Please to name a few. You may hear more than that.
AMFORTE is relatively new to Second Life® (12/22/08) but she is certainly on her way to making a mark here. A mark that is not likely to be surpassed until complete bands show up. Her schedule doesn’t appear to be all that full at the moment, but I’d venture to guess it’ll fill up soon. If you do want to hear her prior to finding her in concert, you can check out her web site at http://www.amforte.com/ but to really appreciate her, you need to see her LIVE in Second Life®.

I have not seen her act but I can tell you right now that there is a band that is beyond amazing. They put on a show like no other and the music is original and will suck you in faster than a bullet. I believe that this is the best band in SL. They are called Deepsky Traveler and I know they have shows soon because I am a part of their group of friends. Checking now... Here they are
10/24 Wild Hogs 8pm SLT.OD Designs DST 9pm.
The last show I was at was packed and they landed in a spaceship. Here is a review & pictures from one of the best clubs in SL. If you want to see the future of music in SL go see Deepsky Traveler!
